Trancoso is a small town located in the southern coastal regions of Brazil in a state called Bahia. Considered to be one of the most beautiful towns located in this portion of the globe, it is the home for a mixed group of people comprising of the natives of the country and descendants from various parts of the globe like Netherlands, Spain, Canada, Italy and Greece. It is gifted with some amazingly wonderful green villages, swimming pools formed naturally by reefs during low tides, coconut groves, sparklingly magnificent nights, rainforests and exotic beaches. With a large number of quaint little buildings and houses, the town preserves the natural design and pattern of housing architecture.

Costa de Descobrimento, commonly known as the Discovery Coast is the name given to the southern coastline of the country. The time period between May and September is one of the best ones to visit this beautifully enriched town. However, if you are a big lover of rainy season, you can go during the January and November.
The beauty and elegance of this small town have forced tourists from different parts of the globe to visit this country at least once. Porto Seguro is the municipality of this town which is famous as the point where Pedro Alvares Cabral landed in Brazil in 1500. Its original name was São João Baptista dos Indios and the credit for its discovery goes to Jesuit Priests in 1583. There a number of churches in Trancoso and the Terravista Golf, renowned as the state-of-the-art, is considered to be one prime attraction for the local people. Experts suggest that your trip to the town will be incomplete if you don’t visit the Monte Pascoal National Park located nearby and named by the Portuguese when they got the first impression of a land while approaching the coast of Bahia in 1500.
The Quadrado is another major attraction of this beautiful town and as the name implies, it is a circular region and considered as the main spot for socializing. This village in Trancoso is gifted with dense forests, ancient trees and fantastically colored churches. This is one of the best locations for ecotourism and efforts have been made by their government for maintaining the greenery and charm of this town. The town’s beaches are lined with a large number of restaurants, night clubs, hotels and pubs making night life ecstatic.
